Job Description
Job title: Cyber Security Engineer Role Summary: Responsible for operating the Security Operations Center (SOC), monitoring security events, conducting incident response and forensic analysis, and ensuring timely remediation of identified threats. Expactations: Maintain a high level of security posture for the Central Government client, perform triage and prioritisation of alerts, deliver actionable incident reports, and collaborate with network security teams to strengthen firewalls and access controls. Key Responsibilities: • Monitor SIEM platforms (Splunk, Defender, Tenable) and IDS/IPS for real‑time threat detection. • Analyse security alerts, determine scope, priority and impact, and recommend remediation actions. • Conduct incident response, forensic analysis and root‑cause investigations. • Maintain and update threat models and vulnerability scanning processes. • Coordinate with network security, firewalls, and access control teams to mitigate risks. • Produce incident and threat reports for stakeholders. Required Skills: • Expertise in SIEM (Splunk, Defender), IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanners (Tenable, etc.). • Proven SOC operations experience, including triage, incident response, and forensic analysis. • Strong knowledge of network security principles, firewalls and access control mechanisms. • Ability to assess and recommend effective remediation measures.
