Job Description
Job Title: National Account Manager – 12 month Fixed Term Contract Role Summary: Manage national retail accounts to achieve annual turnover and profit targets, develop account plans, drive product launches, promotions, and new business opportunities within the grocery/food sector. Expectations: - Meet or exceed sales budget for each account. - Build and maintain strong relationships with key buyers and stakeholders. - Identify and pursue new market opportunities to expand portfolio. - Represent the company’s brand consistently in all customer interactions. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, maintain, and optimize account listings and price files. - Forecast sales, manage product launches, and coordinate promotional activities. - Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with retailers and channel partners. - Produce detailed account plans, sales forecasts, and performance reports. - Collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, Buying, Logistics) to align account strategies. - Track and analyse account performance, presenting findings to senior management. - Proactively source new business and drive it through the sales pipeline. Required Skills: - 1–3 years of first‑line account management experience in grocery or food retail. - Commercial understanding of convenience, foodservice, industrial, and chain retail customers. - Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and presentation abilities. - Excellent organisational and time‑management skills. - High numeracy and analytical mindset. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office; SAP knowledge preferred. - Project management experience a plus. - Self‑motivated, proactive, and result‑oriented with the ability to build relationships at all levels. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree (graduate calibre) in business, marketing, or a related field.
