Job Description
Job title: Finance Manager Role Summary: Reports to the CFO and leads a small finance team overseeing month‑end accounting, financial reporting, and compliance for a growing international SME. Expectations: Deliver accurate, timely financial statements and management reports, ensure compliance with UK accounting standards, manage budgeting, cash flow, and risk hedging, and lead VAT and general ledger activities. Must be a qualified accountant with SME experience, capable of managing a cross‑functional finance team. Key Responsibilities: 1. Manage month‑end close process for group and international entities, preparing management accounts and reports. 2. Prepare accurate financial statements in compliance with UK standards. 3. Ensure punctual internal and external financial reporting. 4. Perform general ledger entries, month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closings and reconciliations. 5. Prepare and submit VAT returns. 6. Oversee cash flow management and financial risk hedging strategies. 7. Supervise Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions. Required Skills: - Certified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent). - Strong knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS. - Proven experience in management accounting and financial reporting within an SME context. - Leadership and team‑management abilities. - Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, Dynamics, or similar). - Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Required Education & Certifications: - A relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. - Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
