Job Description
**Job Title:** District Sales Manager (N.WA/CAN) **Role Summary:** Lead sales operations for a mid‑sized construction materials distributor in the Northwest U.S. and Canada. Drive new customer acquisition, deepen existing relationships, and expand product penetration across residential and commercial segments through field sales, product seminars, and strategic partnership development. **Expectations:** - 3–5 years wholesale or design/build materials sales experience (preferably with progression from inside to field sales). - Strong sales acumen, technical product knowledge, and ability to solve problems in a fast‑moving environment. - Highly motivated, confident demeanor, strong sense of urgency, and a collaborative team orientation. - 80 % of time on in‑field sales calls; valid driver’s license and clean DMV record required. **Key Responsibilities:** - Acquire new wholesale, specifier, and contractor accounts within the territory. - Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers, promoting additional product lines. - Develop and manage the territory sales budget as part of the annual planning process. - Keep CRM, itineraries, and expense reports updated; demonstrate strong organizational skills. - Identify, manage, and close growth opportunities; meet or exceed annual sales targets. - Conduct product/application seminars for industry groups. - Provide qualified lead reports to lead administrators and support Business Development initiatives. - Identify key contractors and specifiers; evaluate local/regional organization memberships for visibility. - Report directly to the Regional Sales Director. **Required Skills:** - Proven sales track record in construction or related wholesale distribution. - Intermediate PC proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and readiness to learn internal systems. - Excellent communication, presentation, relationship building, time‑management, and prioritization. - Strong planning, organizational, and analytical skills; ability to read sales reports and interpret trends. - Problem‑solving aptitude and quick, effective reaction to challenges. - Team‑player mindset; reliability, trustworthiness, and strong human‑relation skills. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university preferred. - Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. - Sales or industry certifications are a plus but not mandatory.
