**Job title:**
OpenShift Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Design, operate, and automate OpenShift Platform-as-a-Service solutions. Lead container migration, cluster maintenance, and DevOps integration while ensuring security, governance, and performance across multi-cloud environments.
**Expactations:**
- Deliver a 1‑year contract with potential extension.
- Hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote).
- Provide strategic guidance for PaaS adoption and application refactoring.
- Maintain high availability and compliance of OpenShift clusters.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Administer, operate, and maintain OpenShift clusters on VMs, bare metal, and ROSA.
- Design and implement automation for platform provisioning and day‑to‑day operations.
- Support migration and refactoring of legacy applications to containerized workloads.
- Manage OpenShift Platform Plus and associated services.
- Enforce cluster security, governance, and compliance standards.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize platform and application performance.
- Collaborate with DevOps and CI/CD teams to streamline deployment pipelines.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, best‑practice guides, and training materials.
- Share knowledge and provide guidance to team members and stakeholders.
**Required Skills:**
- 5+ years administering Red Hat OpenShift (v4.15+).
- Hands‑on experience with OpenShift Container Platform, Data Foundation, and Platform Plus.
- Proficiency with Ceph, Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized microservices architecture.
- Cloud administration on AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, and ROSA.
- Familiarity with Java, JBoss, Nginx, Node.js, and enterprise application architectures.
- Strong scripting/configuration management (Ansible, Terraform, Chef, etc.).
- CI/CD tools: GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible Automation Platform, Terraform, or equivalent.
- DevOps principles, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automated deployment.
- Networking fundamentals (protocols, firewalls, load balancers).
- Documentation, communication, and team‑training skills.
- Preferred: VMware vCenter/vRA/vRO, OpenShift on bare metal, Azure, SSL certificate management, Agile practices, Dynatrace/QRadar monitoring.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
