Job Description
Job Title: Head of Customer Engineering Role Summary: Establish and lead a new Customer Engineering department that bridges sales, customer success, and engineering. Act as the technical SME for the platform, delivering POCs, onboarding, and hands‑on support. Drive automation and integration development, mentor a small team, and influence future platform evolution. Expectations: - Hands‑on technical leadership while managing customer-facing responsibilities. - Build and maintain automation workflows and integrations, primarily in Python. - Mentor and upskill at least four pre‑sales and customer‑success engineers. - Serve as the go‑to expert for platform capabilities, limitations, and roadmap input. Key Responsibilities: 1. Lead the Customer Engineering team, providing mentorship and professional development. 2. Serve as the technical SME for all customer interactions: POCs, onboarding journeys, and ongoing support. 3. Design, develop, and maintain Python‑based automation workflows and integrations (e.g., SIEM, ticketing systems). 4. Collaborate closely with engineering to translate customer insights into platform enhancements. 5. Manage end‑to‑end customer engagements, ensuring technical excellence and value delivery. 6. Influence product roadmap by documenting and prioritising customer needs and technical constraints. Required Skills: - Proficiency in Python (automation, backend code development). - Experience building integrations, especially SIEM, ticketing, or other IT tools. - Deep knowledge of SecOps domains: MDR, XDR, SOAR, SIEM. - Strong customer‑facing background in solutions engineering, technical customer success, or professional services. - Demonstrated technical leadership and mentoring capability. - Ability to influence platform development and communicate insights to cross‑functional teams. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. - Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, or equivalent security credentials.
