**Job Title**
Onsite Engineer (Level 2)
**Role Summary**
Provide enterprise‑level hardware and software support for critical air‑traffic‑control infrastructure on‑site. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a mix of legacy and modern systems—including IBM mainframes, tape/storage devices, servers, and bespoke equipment—while ensuring high availability and performance.

**Key Responsibilities**
- On‑site support for NATS enterprise infrastructure and custom systems.
- Technical support for IBM mainframes (9672, 2003, 2066, 2096) and associated tape/storage (3490, VTS, 3590, EMC/DASD, STK).
- Maintenance and repair of server platforms (IBM PSeries, HP ProLiant, Dell, Sun) and client devices (PCs, printers).
- OS support: Windows (all versions), DOS, OS/2 Warp, IBM AIX, Red Hat, Linux.
- Perform installations, moves, and changes (IM&C) across supported hardware/software.
- Apply electro‑mechanical and soldering skills for bespoke equipment repairs.
- Attend customer meetings, manage stakeholder relationships, and document actions.
- Follow, refine, and contribute to procedural documentation and team knowledge.
**Required Skills**
- Strong troubleshooting of hardware (servers, PCs, printers) and software across multiple OSes.
- Experience with IBM mainframe environments and tape/storage subsystems.
- Proficiency in Windows, Linux, AIX, and legacy OS (DOS, OS/2).
- Electro‑mechanical repair and soldering of custom equipment.
- Ability to execute IM&C tasks and maintain accurate records.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Creative problem‑solving and solution‑focused mindset under pressure.
- Familiarity with IT service management best practices.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications preferred: ITIL Foundation, CompTIA A+/Network+, IBM Certified System Engineer, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or similar.
