Job Description
**Job Title:** Data Scientist **Role Summary:** Lead data‑driven analyses of DMV branch operations, managing appointment systems and large‑scale data extractions to support performance improvement, reporting, and modernization initiatives. **Expactations:** - Deliver accurate, timely data pulls for quarterly and annual legislative reporting. - Drive data‑informed decision making for branch performance and service delivery. - Ensure new systems capture required data for compliance and analysis. **Key Responsibilities:** - Administer and optimize multiple DMV appointment systems. - Conduct data mining, cleaning, and statistical analysis of branch performance metrics. - Lead agency‑wide data extraction projects; design data pipelines and extract processes. - Produce executive‑level dashboards and reports for legislative and managerial use. - Collaborate with IT, business, and compliance teams to incorporate analytics insights into system design. - Maintain data governance standards, ensuring data quality, security, and privacy compliance. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation. - Strong statistical and predictive modeling skills. - Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent). - Ability to translate business questions into analytical solutions. - Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance requirements. - Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field (Master’s preferred). - Minimum 2–4 years of professional data‑science experience. - Knowledge or certification in data analytics (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Tableau Desktop Specialist) beneficial but not mandatory.
