Job Description
**Job Title:** Trading Manager **Role Summary:** Spearheads end‑to‑end commercial management of sales and purchase contracts across defined product lines in building materials trading. Drives profitable third‑party sales growth, diversifies product portfolio, and ensures seamless trade execution to support a strategic volume target. Coordinates with cross‑functional teams, manages trading risks, and provides business intelligence. **Expectations:** - Achieve aggressive volume growth targets while maintaining profitability. - Deliver high‑quality contract negotiations and execution. - Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards. - Operate effectively across international seaborne trade operations with a 50 % travel commitment. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Negotiate and finalize sales/purchase contracts within assigned product lines. 2. Collaborate with Operations, Chartering, Legal, Finance, and Strategy teams for smooth trade execution. 3. Support import/export entities in implementing strategic initiatives and optimizing global footprints. 4. Manage existing customer and supplier portfolios; actively prospect new partners. 5. Assume delegated authority over trading risk management within geographical scope. 6. Adhere to internal rules, industry regulations, and safety protocols. 7. Deliver actionable business intelligence to senior leadership. 8. Promote and uphold health, safety, and environmental standards across all activities. **Required Skills:** - Deep knowledge of the building materials industry and commodity trading. - Proficiency with maritime logistics (dry bulk or containerized). - Advanced Microsoft Office and Salesforce expertise. - Strong leadership, communication, and diplomatic skills. - Ability to manage diverse, cross‑cultural teams and navigate political environments. - Fluency in English (excellent written and spoken). - Mastery of at least one additional internationally representative language (e.g., Spanish, French, Arabic). **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Finance, Maritime Studies). - Minimum 7 years of experience in trading or comparable commercial activities. - No mandatory professional certifications; however, industry‑relevant qualifications (e.g., Certified Commercial Freight Forwarder, CFA, or similar) are advantageous.
