Force Development Full Dimension Protection Division Staff Synchronization Officer (SSO) – DOD Support Services
**Role Summary**
Provide analytical subject‑matter expertise and programmatic support to the Deputy Chief of Staff G‑8 (Force Development Directorates) on Army force development, modernization, equipment fielding, and resource allocation. Conduct reviews, develop recommendations, and manage investment strategies for required war‑fighter equipment and operational needs statements.
**Expectations**
- Execute contract deliverables on time and within scope.
- Deliver high‑quality analytical products and recommendations to senior Army leadership.
- Maintain effective coordination with Army acquisition and operational commands.
- Safely maintain an active Secret Security Clearance.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Analyze, review, and recommend validation, prioritization, and approval of war‑fighter and Operational Needs Statements (ONS).
- Develop investment and resourcing strategies for Army and Joint programs.
- Plan, program, and budget programs; recommend funding allocations and monitor contract performance.
- Create annual funding strategies for assigned systems and present findings to leadership.
- Monitor capability development, develop recommendations for system fielding, and resolve equipment shortfalls in partnership with stakeholders.
- Prepare program documentation for Army ACIDS process and update allocation plans during monthly AE2S cycles.
- Coordinate with ASA (ALT), PM, DCS G‑3/5/7, DCS G‑4, ACOMs, Joint staffs, and agencies.
- Analyze doctrinal and operational changes, assess impacts on resources, and recommend adjustments.
- Produce briefing products, presentations, and strategic communication plans.
**Required Skills**
- Advanced analytical skills in operations research, applied mathematics, statistics, systems or industrial engineering, or computer science.
- Proficiency in collecting, organizing, and synthesizing information from diverse sources.
- Familiarity with Army acquisition processes and equipment fielding cycles.
- Strong written and oral communication; capability to present complex analysis to senior leadership.
- Ability to develop investment/resourcing strategies, monitor contracts, and adjust allocation plans.
- Knowledge of tactical/operational Army equipment: engineering (bridging, construction, explosives, CBRN), military police, and EOD.
- Team‑oriented with cross‑functional coordination experience.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in force development, acquisition, or related domains.
- Active Secret Security Clearance required.
- Preferred: Prior military service and experience with Army acquisition.
