Job Description
Job title: Manufacturing Engineering Intern Role Summary: Assist the Manufacturing Engineering team in process improvement, automation, and layout optimization through data collection, analysis, CAD documentation, and the design of assembly aids. Expectations: Junior or senior level student pursuing a Bachelor's in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering; capable of working independently, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, and meeting project deadlines. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct time‑motion studies for takt‑time and line balancing. • Develop and maintain factory floor layouts using CAD. • Create and deploy digital Work Instructions (eFlex). • Design, 3D‑print, and test jigs, fixtures, and assembly aids. • Collect and analyze production and downtime data; validate dashboards. • Participate in 5S audits, visual management, and continuous improvement events. • Support identification of process constraints and relief actions. • Maintain organized documentation of manufacturing improvements and engineering changes. Required Skills: • Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent CAD software. • 3D printing/additive manufacturing familiarity. • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and data visualization skills (Excel, Power BI optional). • Mechanical aptitude and hands‑on capability. • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities. Required Education & Certifications: • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (Junior or Senior year preferred). • Previous internship or project experience in manufacturing or production is advantageous.
