Job Description
**Job Title** Neighborhood Assistant Support (Fluency in Chinese Required) **Role Summary** Provide classroom and community support to students, families, and community partners. Facilitate behavior management, special‑needs programming, and parent/caregiver engagement, while maintaining an inclusive, supportive school environment. **Expectations** - Fully qualified: Grade 12 + 1‑year post‑secondary education in Family Studies, Recreation Leadership, Management, or related field. - Minimum of 2 years relevant experience. - Fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin (spoken and written), plus proficiency in English. - Occupational First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain). - Microsoft Office proficiency. **Key Responsibilities** - Support classroom management and behavior of students, including those with special needs. - Organize and implement programs and activities for diverse student populations. - Develop and maintain communication channels between the school, parents/caregivers, and community agencies. - Facilitate parent and caregiver engagement events (meetings, drop‑in centres, newsletters). - Liaise with community agencies, donors, and volunteers to enhance service delivery. - Assist with operational school duties and supervise student activities as delegated. - Use instructional aid equipment effectively and maintain its condition. **Required Skills** - Bilingual communication (Cantonese/Mandarin and English). - Strong interpersonal and public‑speaking abilities. - Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, families, and external partners. - Excellent organizational and event‑planning skills. - Understanding of the needs of low‑income students and families. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and instructional aid equipment. - First‑aid readiness and emergency response capability. **Required Education & Certifications** - Grade 12 completion + 1‑year post‑secondary education in Family Studies, Recreation Leadership, Management, or equivalent. - 2+ years of related work experience. - Occupational First Aid certification (or ready to obtain).
