Job Description

**Job Title** Director of Security Operations **Role Summary** Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of security posture for a fast‑moving SaaS platform. Report directly to the CTO and collaborate closely with the Director of Privacy. Own device management, authentication, access controls, observability, and related tooling. Build secure, scalable systems while maintaining agility and supporting compliance, audits, and customer security engagements. **Expectations** - Hands‑on, solution‑oriented leadership in a lean security team. - Ability to design and roll out practical security tooling and controls rapidly. - Strong understanding of compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001) and audit readiness. - Effective communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including customers. - Professional discretion and high ethical standards. **Key Responsibilities** - Propose, implement, and maintain security tools, devices, and protocols. - Embed security into development and operations via close partnership with DevOps and engineering. - Collaborate with Privacy on compliance, audits, and related processes. - Evaluate vendors and guide build‑vs‑buy decisions. - Operate, monitor, and continuously refine security systems. - Support customer security questionnaires and sales conversations when required. **Required Skills** - Proven experience building and managing security tooling (MDM, IAM, observability). - Hands‑on knowledge of SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance, audits, and control frameworks. - Vendor assessment and risk‑based decision making. - Strong written and verbal communication; ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences. - Experience working in a fast‑paced startup environment. - High professionalism, discretion, and integrity. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Certifications such as SOC 2 Lead Implementer/Analyst, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, CISSP, or CISM preferred.
