Role Summary:
Lead media relations for a high-growth PR agency, acting as the primary liaison with journalists, producers, and editors. Craft strategic pitches, secure top-tier coverage, and develop narrative tools that amplify client visibility across print, broadcast, online, and social platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and execute media outreach plans for product launches, events, and brand stories.
• Secure feature stories, executive profiles, and podcast spots in premier outlets.
• Develop compelling pitches and uncover timely story angles to maintain media momentum.
• Conduct industry and competitive research to surface new narratives and trend insights.
• Manage inbound media inquiries and coordinate on‑message responses with account teams.
• Maintain pitch calendars, media lists, and reporting tools; optimize media function workflow.
• Mentor and train junior team members through workshops and skill‑building sessions.
• Attend industry events to expand editorial reach and nurture media relationships.
Required Skills:
• 3–5 years PR, communications, or media relations experience (agency‑preferred).
• Proven track record securing coverage in top‑tier print, online, broadcast, and podcasts.
• Strong relationships with journalists/editors in consumer, health, wellness, and lifestyle sectors.
• Exceptional writing, pitching, and narrative development abilities.
• Acute news judgment – ability to spot trends, angles, and cultural moments.
• Strategic communicator with presentation skills for clients and internal teams.
• Highly organized, deadline‑savvy, and proficient in managing multiple priority streams.
• Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable owning a media lane.
• Experience mentoring junior staff is a plus.
Required Education & Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
• Professional PR certifications (e.g., APR, PRSA, Chartered Institute of Public Relations) are advantageous.
