**Job Title:** Director of Procurement
**Role Summary**
Lead and execute procurement strategy for a growing food and supplement manufacturing business, ensuring supplier excellence, cost efficiency, regulatory compliance, and cross‑functional alignment across North America, Europe, and Asia.
**Expectations**
- Develop and manage procurement operations for food ingredients, supplements, and packaging.
- Drive strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management to secure long‑term value.
- Ensure adherence to US and Canadian regulatory frameworks (CFR 111, FDA, Health Canada, GMP, HACCP).
- Collaborate with quality, R&D, regulatory, finance, logistics, and marketing teams to support product development and market launch.
- Lead cross‑border trade compliance, including export/import documentation and tariff analysis.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and implement a procurement strategy aligned with corporate growth and regulatory requirements.
- Identify, qualify, and contract suppliers and contract manufacturers globally.
- Conduct market analysis, cost trend monitoring, and risk assessment for raw materials and packaging.
- Lead supplier negotiations to achieve cost savings, favorable terms, and sustained value.
- Build and maintain performance metrics (cost, quality, delivery, compliance) and conduct regular supplier reviews.
- Perform supplier audits, resolve non‑conformities, and enforce corrective actions.
- Coordinate with logistics to optimize warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
- Oversee day‑to‑day procurement operations, PO management, onboarding, and compliance checks.
- Draft and enforce procurement policies, SOPs, and best practices.
- Manage export/import processes and ensure compliance with international shipping, FDA, CFIA, and customs.
- Monitor tariffs and trade regulations to minimize cost impact.
**Required Skills**
- Strategic sourcing and procurement expertise in protein‑based foods, supplements, or consumer packaged goods.
- Advanced negotiation, contract management, and cost‑saving capabilities.
- Strong analytical, financial acumen, and proficiency in Excel and Power BI.
- Project management, leadership, and cross‑functional influence skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
- Fluency in English; bilingual (English & French) preferred.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years procurement/supply‑chain experience, 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Knowledge of FDA, Health Canada, CFR 111, GMP, HACCP regulatory environments.
