Job Description
Job title: Senior Legal Counsel – Consumer Business Role Summary Lead a distributed cross‑jurisdictional legal team from London, acting as strategic partner to senior leadership and shaping the company’s global legal and commercial strategy. Deliver pragmatic, commercially focused advice on consumer law, commercial contracts, e‑commerce, data protection and marketing compliance while managing legal risk and optimizing legal processes. Expectations - Manage and develop a geographically dispersed legal team. - Provide clear, actionable legal support to senior stakeholders. - Own and execute complex regulatory projects in a fast‑paced environment. - Collaborate closely with product, marketing, commercial and operations functions. - Drive continuous improvement of legal workflows, templates and governance frameworks. Key Responsibilities - Lead cross‑jurisdictional legal team development and performance management. - Advise senior leadership on consumer, commercial, e‑commerce, data protection and marketing compliance matters. - Own and deliver high‑impact legal and regulatory projects across multiple markets. - Mitigate legal risk while enabling business growth initiatives. - Improve legal processes, templates, and governance frameworks for efficiency and consistency. Required Skills - Qualified solicitor with substantial in‑house experience. - Proven expertise supporting consumer‑facing businesses across multiple jurisdictions. - Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate complex legal issues into actionable business advice. - Demonstrated leadership, stakeholder‑management, and cross‑functional collaboration. - Experience delivering complex projects in fast‑moving environments. - Excellent written and verbal communication, problem‑solving and negotiation skills. - Knowledge of digital marketing, advertising or digital consumer experience highly desirable. Required Education & Certifications - Qualified solicitor (UK or equivalent), admitted to practice. - Relevant certifications in consumer law, data protection (e.g., GDPR), or technology law are advantageous.
