**Job Title**
AWS Cloud Engineer (Amazon Connect Expert)
**Role Summary**
Design, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on Amazon Connect. Lead automation, CI/CD, and security compliance for enterprise‑scale contact center solutions. Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, security, and operations teams to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient cloud services.
**Expected Work Model**
Hybrid (minimum 2 days onsite). In‑person interview required for candidates within 200 mi of Sacramento. Remote-first candidates may receive video interview if outside radius.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Architect and deploy scalable AWS resources (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS, EMR, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Secrets Manager, SSM).
- Build and manage IaC with Terraform and Ansible; develop CI/CD pipelines (Git, CI/CD tools).
- Implement and administer Amazon Connect: contact flows, IVR/IVA, routing profiles, telephony configuration, and Lambda integrations.
- Conduct performance, availability, and security testing; enforce best practices for cloud security (IAM, networking, secrets).
- Monitor systems; troubleshoot complex issues; maintain up‑to‑date architecture documentation.
- Lead cloud governance initiatives and compliance alignment.
- Stay current with emerging AWS services and industry best practices.
**Required Skills**
- 10+ years total IT experience; 5+ years AWS Cloud Engineer.
- Proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, Git, CI/CD workflows.
- Hands‑on experience with EC2, IAM, networking, ECS, EMR, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, SSM, Secrets Manager.
- Minimum 4 years Amazon Connect expertise (contact flows, IVR, routing, telephony, Lambda integration).
- 2+ years cloud security experience; strong knowledge of IAM, encryption, audit logging.
- Advanced Linux/Unix administration (on‑prem & cloud).
- Object‑oriented design pattern knowledge.
- Excellent architectural, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Preferred: AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, DevOps Engineer – Professional, or Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional.
