Job Description
**Job title** Senior Infrastructure Engineer (MSP) **Role Summary** Serve as the lead technical and client‑facing engineer for infrastructure projects within a Managed Service Provider (MSP). Own end‑to‑end project execution—planning, scoping, and delivering server builds, cloud migrations, network upgrades, and firewall deployments—while building and maintaining trust with SMB clients. **Expectations** - Deliver projects on time, within scope, and with minimal disruption to client operations. - Act as the primary escalation point for complex infrastructure issues. - Maintain a high level of technical proficiency across Microsoft 365, Windows Server, networking, and virtualization. - Operate autonomously in a fast‑moving, low‑bureaucracy environment while collaborating with a small, high‑performance team. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Lead and manage end‑to‑end infrastructure projects (server builds, cloud migrations, network refreshes, firewall implementations). 2. Scope, plan, and execute projects, drafting detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets. 3. Serve as the main client contact—communicating progress, managing expectations, and ensuring client satisfaction. 4. Escalate and resolve complex technical issues originating from the service desk. 5. Perform hands‑on tasks: Microsoft 365 administration, Windows Server deployments, VLAN/VPN configuration, firewall (Fortinet, SonicWall, etc.) setup, and virtualization (VMware or Hyper‑V). 6. Maintain system documentation, configuration baselines, and post‑project reviews. **Required Skills** - 4–6+ years of IT infrastructure experience with a client‑facing project focus. - Minimum 5 years operating within an MSP environment. - Expertise in Microsoft 365 migration and administration. - Strong networking knowledge (VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, switches). - Virtualization proficiency in VMware or Hyper‑V. - Excellent communication, client‑management, and project‑management abilities. - Troubleshooting and escalation skills for complex incidents. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience). - Microsoft 365/Windows Server certification (MCSA/MCSE). - VMware vSphere Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent virtualization certification. - Fortinet NSE 4/5 or SonicWall Certified Professional (optional but preferred).
