**Job Title:** Data Engineer (Banking Experience Required)
**Role Summary:**
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures supporting banking operations and analytics. Ensure data quality, compliance, and optimal performance across cloud data platforms. Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable data solutions.
**Expectations:**
- Minimum 8 years of data engineering experience.
- Proven expertise in Snowflake, Python, PySpark, and SQL.
- Demonstrated knowledge of banking/financial services data, governance, security, and privacy standards.
- Ability to manage release processes and automate data workflows.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Build and sustain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake, PySpark, and SQL.
- Write complex, optimized SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Design data models, schemas, and architecture aligned with banking domain requirements.
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business owners to gather and translate data needs.
- Automate workflows, monitor pipeline performance, and troubleshoot issues.
- Manage release cycles, version control, and deployment of data solutions.
- Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and privacy policies.
- Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of data architecture and processes.
**Required Skills:**
- Snowflake (cloud data warehousing)
- Python scripting and PySpark for data processing
- Advanced SQL (query optimization, complex joins)
- ETL/ELT design and implementation
- Release management and CI/CD practices
- Data governance, security, and privacy compliance (banking focus)
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication abilities
- Preferred: Azure, Databricks, Apache Kafka, DevOps tooling
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., SnowPro Core, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Certified Data Engineer) are a plus but not mandatory.
