**Job Title:** Business Analyst
**Role Summary:**
Drive the maintenance, enhancement, and implementation of Electronic Health Record (EHR) applications (patient registration, scheduling, clinical documentation, order entry, results reporting). Serve as the primary liaison between end‑users, IT, vendors, and clinical leadership to ensure application reliability, data integrity, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
**Expectations:**
Deliver consistent, timely end‑user support and system improvements within defined SLAs. Lead testing, documentation, and change management for new releases and upgrades while maintaining operational continuity in a hospital environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide day‑to‑day user support for Cerner EHR, including troubleshooting and training.
- Manage user accounts, security views, and permissions across environments.
- Design, build, and test application enhancements for safety, quality, and usability.
- Monitor data integrity, conduct root‑cause analysis, and coordinate issue resolution.
- Develop and execute test plans for new systems and upgrades.
- Configure non‑production and production environments during deployments.
- Create and maintain system documentation, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with project managers to define milestones, timelines, and risk mitigation.
- Model business processes, capture requirements, and map information flows.
- Analyze current processes for improvement opportunities and patient‑safety risks.
- Develop reporting, auditing tools, and measurement dashboards for clinical teams.
- Participate in quality assurance audits and benefit‑measurement activities.
- Serve as a change agent, identifying and championing process enhancements.
- Coordinate post‑implementation support and after‑hours clinician assistance.
**Required Skills:**
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Visio) and EHR systems.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Experience with change control, configuration management, and user‑training.
- Knowledge of hospital information systems and interface design.
- Ability to work independently and as part of cross‑functional teams.
- Familiarity with data integrity and security standards in healthcare.
- Capacity to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize tasks.
- Detail‑oriented approach to documentation and process mapping.
- Adaptability to evolving clinical workflows and technology updates.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent college diploma with experience). Minimum five years of IT/technical support experience, preferably in a hospital setting, and proven proficiency with Cerner EHR.
