**Job title:** Head of Data
**Role Summary:** Lead the data function across the organization, establishing data as a strategic asset. Own data quality, governance, and architecture while driving analytics, AI, and data culture initiatives that directly impact products, operations, and customer experience.
**Expectations:**
- Build and scale a data team (Engineering, Analytics) to achieve excellence.
- Own end‑to‑end data lifecycle ensuring reliability, security, and performance.
- Deliver high‑impact data-driven insights and products, enhancing business outcomes.
- Champion a health‑check culture, continuous improvement, and adoption of modern data practices.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Team Leadership** – recruit, develop, and retain talent; set vision, priorities, and resources.
2. **Business Alignment** – collaborate with product, ops, marketing, CRM, and finance; translate needs into shared data models and actionable metrics.
3. **Data Platform & Architecture** – oversee ingestion, storage, modeling, APIs; enforce “data as a product”; promote testing, versioning, CI/CD; modernize platform (AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow).
4. **Governance & Quality** – implement robust data governance, GDPR compliance; develop monitoring, alerting, SLO/SLI for freshness, completeness, availability, cost.
5. **Analytics Delivery** – design and maintain KPI dashboards; enable proactive performance monitoring.
6. **Data Science & AI** – drive segmentation, prediction models (clustering, LTV, churn, scoring); support AI/ML initiatives (recommendations, next‑best action, anomaly detection).
7. **Data Culture** – evangelize data‑driven mindset; provide tools and training for product, marketing, and tech teams; foster autonomy in data exploration.
8. **Vision & Innovation** – monitor emerging technologies (LLMs, generative AI, data observability, MLOps); assess and integrate new data‑value opportunities.
**Required Skills:**
- 8+ years in data roles, 3+ years in leadership.
- Expertise in modern data architectures (ELT/ETL, data lake, pipelines).
- Proficiency in AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Power BI, SQL, Python.
- Strong governance, monitoring, and observability skill set (Datadog, Monte Carlo or equivalent).
- Leadership: collaborative, decisive, outcomes‑focused.
- Domain: B2C digital, fintech, or insurtech preferred.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, SnowPro, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer) are a plus.
