Job Description
Job Title: Data Analyst Role Summary: Translate raw data into actionable insights to support strategic decisions and operational improvements across organizational functions. Expectations: - Minimum of four years of Data Analyst experience. - Background in insurance industry. - Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or related field. - Strong SQL proficiency for data extraction and analysis. - Experience with BI/visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker). - Knowledge of insurance concepts (underwriting, loss ratios, claims metrics). - Advanced problem-solving and communication skills. Key Responsibilities: - Collect, analyze, and interpret policy, claims, billing, and customer service data. - Develop dashboards and reports to monitor business performance and key metrics. - Partner with underwriting, claims, product, and finance teams to identify trends and risks. - Conduct deep-dive analyses to support pricing strategies, risk assessment, and loss ratio improvement. - Translate business needs into analytical solutions for measurable outcomes. - Validate data integrity across systems and ensure compliance with regulatory reporting. - Provide ad-hoc analysis for leadership decision-making. Required Skills: - SQL for data querying and extraction. - BI/visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker). - Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.). - Data validation and reconciliation techniques. - Understanding of insurance terminology and metrics (premiums, claims severity, risk assessment). - Ability to communicate insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
