Data Analyst

Description Summary:

The Data Analyst role is responsible for playing a critical role in turning raw data into

actionable intelligence that drives strategic decisions and operational improvements

across the organization.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Collect, analyze, and interpret data from policy, claims, billing, and customer

service systems with a focus on claims metrics

Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to monitor business

performance and key metrics

Partner with underwriting, claims, product, and finance teams to identify trends,

risks, and opportunities

Conduct deep-dive analyses to support pricing strategies, loss ratio

improvement, and risk assessment

Translate business needs into analytical requirements and deliver solutions that

drive measurable results

Perform data validation and ensure data integrity across multiple sources and

systems

Support regulatory reporting and compliance requirements specific to the non-

standard auto insurance market

Provide ad-hoc analysis to leadership for strategic decision-making

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance,

Economics, or a related field

Minimum of four years of experience as a Data Analyst

Background in insurance

Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying and extraction

Experience with BI and visualization tools with Looker experience a plus (e.g.,

Tableau, Power BI, Looker)

Advanced knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and advanced functions

Ability to analyze large, complex data sets and communicate insights clearly to

both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Understanding of key insurance concepts such as underwriting, loss ratios,

claims severity/frequency, and premium analysis

Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and time management

abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of personal lines auto insurance, preferably non-standard

Experience with claims metrics

Experience with data extraction and manipulation

Experience with statistical programming languages (Python, R, SAS)

Experience with PowerApps

Familiarity with predictive modeling or machine learning techniques

Exposure to cloud-based data environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Experience in cloud native environments.
