Job Description
**Job Title:** LEADS Software Developer Specialist **Role Summary** Develop, maintain, and enhance XML‑centric software solutions for military contracts, including IETM viewers, compilers, authoring environments, and CMS integrations. Deliver responsive, client‑focused interfaces, perform rigorous testing, and support continuous improvement initiatives using agile practices. **Expectations** - Deliver high‑quality software on time and within budget. - Align solutions with project requirements and industry standards. - Participate actively in agile ceremonies and documentation practices. - Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and vendors. **Key Responsibilities** - Design, code, and test XML and DTD/Schema files for military contracting applications. - Build and maintain IETM viewer/compiler components and responsive UI elements. - Develop authoring and CMS integration tools for content workflows. - Conduct unit, integration, and regression testing following best practices. - Analyze project requirements, recommend solutions, and support continuous improvement. - Execute tasks using Agile methodology, maintain sprint backlogs, and provide status updates. - Troubleshoot and debug issues in collaboration with IT teams and vendors. - Create and maintain databases, scripts, and conversion utilities for internal/external use. - Coordinate project activities via collaboration tools, guidance documents, and standard procedures. **Required Skills** - Web‑development stack: Node.js, Express, Bootstrap. - XML programming: XSL, FOSI, Java, VB.NET, VBA, JavaScript, XPath. - General programming: .NET, JavaScript, HTML. - Version control: Git (branching, commit workflows). - IDEs: Microsoft Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code. - Agile tools: Atlassian suite, GitLab, or equivalent. - Analytical, planning, negotiation, and strong written/verbal communication. - Team‑oriented interpersonal skills. - Willingness to travel up to 5% in Canada, 5% in US & International (passport required). **Required Education & Certifications** - University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, DevOps, or related field. **Preferred Qualifications** (non‑mandatory) - Experience in IT Project Management or Business Analysis. - Familiarity with logistics and technical publications development. - Knowledge of Light Armoured Vehicles. - Awareness of DevOps practices. - Relational database development and support experience.
