**Job title:** Commercial Litigation Lawyer (2–10 PQE)
**Role Summary:**
Junior‑to‑mid level commercial litigation lawyer for an offshore BVI firm. Responsible for handling complex disputes in insolvency, banking & finance, fraud, asset tracing, company law, contractual matters, professional negligence, and trust litigation. Supports business development, attends conferences, and participates in internal training.
**Expectations:**
- Admitted solicitor or barrister in the UK or Eastern Caribbean.
- 2–10 years of high‑quality commercial litigation experience at a major national, international or offshore firm.
- Proven ability to manage complex litigation, provide strategic client advice, and contribute to client acquisition and development.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Advise and represent clients in commercial disputes, including insolvency, banking & finance, fraud, asset‑tracing, company law, contractual disputes, professional negligence, and trust matters.
- Draft pleadings, witness statements, expert reports and legal opinions.
- Develop case strategy, manage timelines, and attend court or arbitration proceedings.
- Conduct client meetings, negotiate settlements, and advise on risk mitigation.
- Participate in business‑development activities, conferences, and seminars.
- Provide internal training and support to junior team members.
**Required Skills:**
- Strong litigation and dispute‑resolution expertise.
- In‑depth knowledge of insolvency, banking & finance law, fraud, asset‑tracing, company law, contractual law, professional negligence, and trust law.
- Excellent drafting, oral advocacy, and negotiation abilities.
- Self‑directed work ethic, strong organisational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Client‑focused communication and business‑development orientation.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Qualified solicitor or barrister admitted in the UK or Eastern Caribbean.
- Minimum 2 years, up to 10 years of commercial litigation experience.
- No additional certifications required.
