Job Description
Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer Role Summary: Lead end‑to‑end delivery and ongoing support of hybrid software, hardware, and cloud‑based systems. Oversee Windows/Linux environments, virtualization, SaaS integrations, and infrastructure automation. Ensure high availability, security, and compliance across on‑prem and multi‑cloud deployments. Expectations: • 4–6 years of hands‑on network and systems administration. • Proven experience administering Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and related services. • Strong scripting and automation expertise (Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Bash). • Adept at cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP) and virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V). • Demonstrated application of security best practices: firewalls, IAM, patching. • Ability to troubleshoot complex incidents and act as escalation point for IT support. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design, implement, and maintain hybrid software, hardware, and SaaS products from concept through deployment and sustainment. 2. Administer and support Windows/Linux systems, ensuring uptime, secure configuration, and efficient resource utilization. 3. Manage virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper‑V) and hybrid cloud deployments (Azure, AWS, GCP). 4. Configure and troubleshoot Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs, and networking components (WAN/LAN, VPN). 5. Perform routine maintenance: patching, backups, log reviews, health checks. 6. Apply configuration management and change control processes to preserve system baselines. 7. Design and implement system improvements and automation of repetitive tasks. 8. Monitor incidents, alerts, and support requests; coordinate with cybersecurity, software, and help‑desk teams. 9. Escalate major incidents to vendors and act as subject‑matter expert across multidisciplinary teams. 10. Document network/system configurations and standard operating procedures. Required Skills: - Systems engineering & network infrastructure fundamentals - Windows Server & Linux administration (shell, PowerShell, Bash) - Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO configuration - Virtualization: VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper‑V - Cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, GCP – compute, networking, security services - Automation & configuration management: Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell DSC, Bash scripting - Security practices: firewalls, IAM, patch management, MFA, DLP - M365, Okta, IAM/ACL administration - Disaster recovery & business continuity planning - Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) - Relevant certifications preferred: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate / Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP‑DCV) or equivalent. ---
