Job Title: Finance Manager Role Summary: Lead and coordinate all day‑to‑day financial operations of a growing merchandising business. Responsibilities include bookkeeping, accounts receivable/payable management, payroll processing, vendor billing, month‑end and year‑end reporting, and system development to increase efficiency. Collaborate with leadership and cross‑functional teams to analyze financial data, identify trends, and support strategic growth initiatives. Expectations: - 3–5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping. - Proficient with QuickBooks Online (or equivalent). - Strong grasp of AR/AP, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting. - Detail‑oriented with the ability to focus on the broader business context. - Passion for system optimization, process improvement, and scalable solutions. - Growth mindset, proactive learning, and adaptability. - Comfortable working in a short‑week schedule (optional). Key Responsibilities: - Maintain accurate general ledger entries and reconcile accounts. - Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and vendor payment approvals. - Process payroll and administer employee benefits. - Build and refine financial systems and controls for scalability and accuracy. - Produce month‑end and year‑end financial statements and reports. - Partner with leadership to uncover financial patterns, trends, and opportunities. - Coordinate with sales and operations on invoicing, billing, and reporting. - Lead and develop a small finance team as the company expands. Required Skills: - Accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar). - Knowledge of AR/AP processes, payroll systems, and general ledger management. - Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Effective communication and cross‑functional collaboration. - Project management and process improvement expertise. - Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. - Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent credential preferred but not mandatory.
