**Job Title:** Contracts Manager
**Role Summary:**
Lead the delivery of multiple construction and infrastructure projects across England, ensuring on‑time completion, budget compliance, and adherence to the highest safety, quality, and sustainability standards. Own project P&L, cultivate client and supplier relationships, embed lean construction principles, and drive a culture of zero harm and continuous improvement.
**Expactations (Key Outcomes):**
- Projects delivered on schedule, within financial targets, and meeting safety/quality requirements.
- Full P&L ownership with accurate forecasting, cost control, and profitability.
- Strong, collaborative relationships with clients, partners, consultants, and suppliers.
- Integration of sustainability, lean construction, and BIM to enhance efficiency and innovation.
- Regular, transparent reporting of progress, risks, and opportunities to senior management.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Manage end‑to‑end project delivery: planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
2. Control project budgets, monitor costs, and achieve financial targets.
3. Own and report on project P&L, variance analysis, and financial performance.
4. Build and maintain trust‑based relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
5. Implement lean construction practices and promote continuous improvement.
6. Champion safety and sustainability policies, ensuring Zero Harm culture adoption.
7. Lead and mentor project teams, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
8. Deliver accurate, timely reports and briefings to senior leadership on status, risks, and opportunities.
**Required Skills:**
- Proven contract and project management experience within construction or infrastructure.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and team‑building capabilities.
- Financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, P&L management, cost control.
- Stakeholder management and communication across all levels.
- Safety‑first mindset with knowledge of industry safety standards.
- Sustainable construction awareness and commitment to innovation.
- Ability to embed lean construction principles and understand BIM concepts.
- Problem‑solving, decision‑making, and analytical skills.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Minimum of a relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., construction, engineering, business) or equivalent professional experience.
- Valid CSCS card is mandatory.
- Professional or technical credentials such as APMP (Project Management Professional) are desirable.
- Knowledge or experience in Lean Construction or BIM preferred.
