Job Description: Job title: Ansible Automation Engineer – (NOT just DevOps - Heavy automation) Role Summary: Design, develop, and maintain enterprise‑grade Ansible playbooks and automation pipelines from scratch. Lead end‑to‑end automation initiatives that integrate infrastructure services with RESTful APIs, enhancing operational efficiency across multiple teams. Expactations: - Deliver fully functional automation solutions without modifying existing playbooks. - Integrate Ansible workflows with external REST APIs and internal services. - Provide clear documentation, standards, and best practices for automation. Key Responsibilities: - Create and optimize Ansible playbooks, roles, and configuration templates for infrastructure deployments. - Script automation logic using Python, Bash, Perl, or PowerShell. - Integrate automation workflows with REST APIs to enable dynamic infrastructure provisioning. - Collaborate with operations, development, and security teams to gather requirements and validate solutions. - Maintain version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines for automation artifacts. - Troubleshoot automation failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. - Document processes, maintain knowledge bases, and enforce coding standards. Required Skills: - Advanced proficiency in Ansible (writing new playbooks from scratch). - Strong experience with REST API integration and service orchestration. - Scripting expertise in Python, Bash, Perl, or PowerShell. - Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code concepts, Git, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.). - Understanding of SDLC, DevOps principles, and automation best practices. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience. - Preferred certifications: Red Hat Ansible Automation Engineer (RHCA) or similar, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, or relevant Cloud automation credentials.
