Job Specifications

Position: Ansible Automation Engineer – (NOT just DevOps - Heavy automation)

Location: Maryland Heights, MO or Charlotte, NC (Onsite 4 days/week)

Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Job Summary:

Looking for a strong Automation Engineer who can build Ansible playbooks from scratch and develop end-to-end automation solutions for infrastructure operations. The candidate should have hands-on scripting experience and be able to integrate automation with REST APIs. DevOps background is helpful but the primary focus is heavy automation, not pipeline management.

Must-Have Skills:

Strong experience in Ansible (creating new playbooks; not just modifying existing ones)
API Integration and REST-based service interaction
Scripting with Python / Bash / Perl / PowerShell
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, Git, and CI/CD tools
Understanding of SDLC and DevOps concepts

Responsibilities:

Develop automation solutions to support infrastructure and operations teams
Write and maintain Ansible playbooks, scripts, and configuration templates
Integrate automation workflows using REST APIs
Collaborate closely with operations and development teams to gather requirements
Create and maintain documentation, standards, and best practices
Troubleshoot automation issues and propose effective solutions
