Job Description

Job Title: DevOps Engineer II – Contract Role Summary: Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure application infrastructure. Collaborate with development teams to automate deployments, monitor performance, and optimize resource utilization. Ensure system reliability and compliance with security standards. Expectations: - Deliver high‑availability, fault‑tolerant environments that meet performance and security goals. - Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks and vulnerabilities. - Communicate status, risks, and solutions clearly to cross‑functional stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: - Configure, deploy, and manage application servers and associated services. - Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for code releases. - Monitor system metrics, logs, and performance, applying tuning and scaling strategies. - Implement security controls, patching, and vulnerability management. - Create troubleshooting documentation and recovery procedures. - Collaborate with developers to improve code quality, architecture, and deployment practices. Required Skills: - Proficiency in scripting (Ruby, Python, or equivalent). - Experience with Linux/Unix server administration. - Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration. - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation). - Understanding of relational databases and SQL. - Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field. - 2–4 years of DevOps or systems engineering experience. - Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Kubernetes Administrator) are a plus.
