Job title: Director, Business Operations and Strategy
Role Summary: Lead strategic and financial growth of a life‑science incubator site, overseeing operations, budgeting, partnership development, and customer experience. Acts as senior liaison with university partners, industry sponsors, and resident start‑ups while ensuring compliance with biosafety regulations.
Expectations: • Deliver measurable growth in revenue, occupancy, and capital efficiency.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the local biotech ecosystem, universities, and sponsors.
• Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and operational excellence.
• Demonstrate strong business acumen and leadership in a fast‑moving, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute strategic goals in partnership with university and corporate leadership.
- Develop and manage operational and capital budgets with accurate forecasting.
- Track financial performance: revenue capture, occupancy rates, capital efficiency, and pipeline projections.
- Drive applicant pipeline through targeted marketing, branding, and thought‑leadership initiatives.
- Lead a cross‑functional team (administrative, client relations, events, communications).
- Engage resident start‑ups, providing resources and promoting growth.
- Expand relationships with pharma, academic, and technical partners.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to shape pricing, product offerings, and solutions.
- Design and maintain a programming/calendar of events, workshops, and expert panels.
- Standardize and improve operational processes and administrative workflows.
- Serve as alternate Biological Safety Officer: maintain compliance, conduct risk assessments, certify, and provide training.
Required Skills:
