Job Title: Freelance Business Unit Manager SAP Role Summary: Lead the strategy, implementation, and overall performance of SAP ERP solutions for a client as an independent business unit manager. Drive profitability, foster cross‑functional collaboration, and maintain quality and compliance standards while overseeing an all‑remote or on‑site team. Expectations: - Deliver strategic direction and a clear roadmap for ERP initiatives. - Act as a direct client liaison and strategic partner, ensuring alignment with business goals. - Manage budget, forecast financial performance, and deliver ROI targets. - Provide leadership and motivating direction to a high‑performing, distributed team. - Ensure uninterrupted communication across departments and stakeholders. - Uphold internal and external quality, compliance, and best‑practice standards. Key Responsibilities: - Define and execute business strategy and roadmap for SAP ERP deployments. - Own financial management: budgeting, cost control, profitability analysis, and business case justification. - Lead, coach, and retain a cross‑functional team, setting clear objectives and performance metrics. - Coordinate with IT, finance, operations, and external vendors to deliver integrated solutions. - Manage stakeholder expectations, facilitate workshops, and report on project status and value. - Conduct risk assessments and enforce governance, security, and compliance frameworks. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives, knowledge transfer, and process optimization. Required Skills: - Proven management experience in IT or ERP environments. - Strong people‑management, coaching, and team‑building abilities. - In‑depth understanding of SAP or modern ERP platforms and implementation methodologies. - Excellent commercial sense, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management skills. - Results‑driven mindset with a strong analytical and problem‑solving approach. - Clear, concise communication in English; fluency in Dutch and French preferred. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field. - SAP certification (e.g., SAP Management, SAP Project Management) plus additional ERP-related credentials considered an asset.
