DIFF 2025 will be held April 25-May 1, 2025. DIFF 2025 will feature screenings of more than 150 films from nearly 30 countries, as well as Q&A sessions with filmmakers and actors, nightly DIFF Red Carpets, a Festival Lounge, and special events throughout the film festival. Through curation of the broadest range of expression through film, the Dallas International Film Festival (DIFF) is the region’s most powerfully inclusive and equitable platform for diverse, emerging and underrepresented voices. Since its founding, DIFF has screened more than 2,000 widely diverse new films from 50 countries, provided more than $1.1 million in awards and hosted more than 100,000 filmgoers and filmmakers. DIFF is the signature program of Dallas Film, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established as Dallas Film Society, Inc., in 2006 by people who believe passionately in the magic of film. Dallas Film exists to celebrate films and their impact on society, honor filmmakers and recognize their contribution enhancing both the creative community and the city of Dallas, provide leadership in film education, and celebrate excellence in the art of film. **Job Title:** Dallas International Film Festival – Programming Intern (Spring 2026) **Role Summary:** Intern will support film selection, documentation, and festival operations for the Dallas International Film Festival. Responsibilities include evaluating short film submissions, tracking festival entries, managing ticketing and print logistics, and assisting on‑site during the April 23–30 event. **Expectations:** - Analyze and critique short‑film submissions. - Participate in weekly discussion and review sessions. - Manage film and filmmaker data, ensuring accurate scheduling and logistical support. - Familiarity and hands‑on use of ticketing software and print coordination. - Attend on‑site operations during the festival. - Coordinate with remote and on‑site teams using standard collaboration tools. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Watch and write critical assessments of short‑film submissions. 2. Participate in weekly 1‑hour group discussions on programming criteria and festival fit. 3. Support tracking and documentation of accepted films and filmmakers in shared databases. 4. Assist ticketing system operations and coordinate film print preparation. 5. Work on‑site during the main festival to aid screenings and festival logistics. 6. Attend weekly updates on festival operations and progress. 7. Employ tools such as Slack, Google Sheets, Google Drive, Asana, Adobe Creative Suite, and Canva to support programming tasks. 8. Contribute to end‑to‑end screening and selection workflow from submission through final programming decisions. **Required Skills:** - Strong written and verbal communication. - Critical film knowledge and evaluation skills. - Data tracking and organization using spreadsheets. - Comfort with collaboration platforms (Slack, Asana, Google Workspace). - Basic design and marketing affinity (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva). - Detail‑oriented focus on scheduling and logistics. - Ability to work independently and in a hybrid remote/on‑site environment. - Interest in film programming, festival operations, and media production workflows. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Current undergraduate or graduate student in Film, Media Studies, Communications, or a related discipline. - Enrollment required to qualify for college credit; no additional certification required.
