Position Overview:

The Dallas Film team is seeking motivated and passionate interns for the 2026 Dallas International Film Festival (DIFF). This unique internship offers hands-on experience in film programming and festival operations, providing valuable insight into the world of film curation and festival management. 

Key Responsibilities:

Watch and critically evaluate short film submissions, completing written assessments and participating in weekly discussions focused on programming considerations, tone, and festival fit. Opportunities to assist with second-round screenings may be available.
Tracking Filmmaker & Film Intake: Support the tracking and documentation of films and filmmakers accepted into the festival, managing schedules and ensuring all logistical needs are met.
Ticketing Software & Print Traffic: Learn and assist with festival ticketing systems and the coordination of film prints, ensuring that films are ready for screening.
Festival Attendance (April 2026): Work on-site during the Dallas International Film Festival, assisting with festival operations and screenings.

Weekly Meetings:

Group Film Discussions: Engage in weekly 1-hour discussions focusing on film review and criticism from a programmer’s viewpoint.
Festival Operations Updates: Participate in weekly updates to stay informed about current festival tasks and developments.

Learning Opportunities:

Gain experience in the end-to-end film selection process, from submission to final programming.
Work in a hybrid structure that combines remote work with on-site responsibilities.
Opportunity to work in and learn key systems such as Slack, Google Sheets, Google Drive, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Eventive.

Ideal Candidate:

Passion for film and interest in film programming, data tracking, and festival operations.
Familiarity with Asana, Slack, Google Sheets, Google Drive, Adobe Creative Suite, and Canva is beneficial but not required.

Program Dates:

January - May 2026
Attendance at the Dallas International Film Festival (April 23–30, 2026) is required.

DIFF 2025 will be held April 25-May 1, 2025.
