Job Description
**Job Title**: Head of Technical Services **Role Summary**: Lead and evolve the firm’s technology and digital infrastructure, ensuring secure, efficient systems aligned with business goals. Own IT operations, cyber‑security, CMS optimization, AI adoption, and vendor management while driving innovation and operational excellence. **Expectations**: Deliver a robust, secure, and modern technology environment; maintain high system availability; lead cyber‑security and compliance initiatives; implement AI and automation to improve legal service delivery; develop and execute a technology strategy; manage internal team and external partners; provide advanced technical support and user training. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Oversee IT infrastructure (networks, cloud, servers, endpoints) across offices. 2. Manage performance, security, upgrades, and documentation for Proclaim and other legal CMS, ensuring seamless integration with document, finance, and communication systems. 3. Lead the cyber‑security program: threat monitoring, penetration testing, vulnerability management, incident response, and security awareness. 4. Ensure compliance with GDPR, SRA guidelines, Cyber Essentials Plus, and other regulatory standards. 5. Develop and implement the technology strategy and roadmap, integrating AI, data analytics, and workflow automation. 6. Lead digital transformation initiatives; evaluate, pilot, and deploy AI‑driven solutions (document automation, case analytics, intelligent search). 7. Build and motivate the technical services team; foster a culture of accountability and professional growth. 8. Negotiate and manage vendors, MSPs, and licensing agreements within approved budgets. 9. Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for complex technical issues; manage service desk operations. 10. Produce and maintain policies, procedures, and user training materials. **Required Skills** - Strategic IT leadership and project management - Expertise in legal CMS (Proclaim) and system integration - Strong cybersecurity knowledge (threat detection, penetration testing, incident response) - Experience with cloud infrastructure, network security, VPN, and endpoint management - AI, data analytics, and automation strategy implementation - Vendor and contract management - Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and training delivery - Proven ability to develop and execute technology roadmaps **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field - Relevant IT certifications preferred: CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent; Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator; VMware Certified Professional; Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent. *** End ***
