Job title: Azure Desktop Engineer – Jr
Role Summary:
Design, deploy, and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Intune, and associated Microsoft cloud services for a large enterprise EUC environment. Lead migration from on‑premises SCCM/ConfigMgr to Intune, manage device provisioning, automate imaging and application delivery, and ensure secure, scalable desktop experiences for 10,000+ users.
Expectations:
- Hold an ACTIVE TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph (or be cleared by organization).
- Provide Tier‑3/4 support for AVD and Intune.
- Work with cross‑functional teams (security, networking, infrastructure) to align with Zero Trust and business continuity.
- Demonstrate strong automation, scripting, and documentation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. **AVD Architecture & Operations** – design host pools, application groups, FSLogix profiles, autoscaling, monitoring; implement multi‑region deployments; optimize cost, performance, and availability.
2. **Modern Device Management** – implement Intune, Azure AD, and Autopilot for 10k+ devices; create compliance policies, configuration profiles, and security baselines; migrate GPO to Intune/MDM.
3. **Azure & Identity Integration** – configure Azure AD Join/Hybid Join, Conditional Access, MFA, RBAC; collaborate with security to enforce Zero Trust.
4. **Migration & Modernization** – lead transition from SCCM/ConfigMgr to Intune; plan user profile, app, and policy migrations; coordinate with networking and security teams.
5. **Automation & Continuous Improvement** – automate imaging, packaging, and deployment via PowerShell, Graph API, Azure Automation; implement monitoring with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics.
6. **End‑User Experience & Support** – assess login and application performance, provide escalation support, participate in change management and governance.
Required Skills:
- 2+ years Windows Desktop Engineering/EUC experience.
- 2+ years Azure (AVD, Azure AD, security components) hands‑on.
- Windows 10/11 image creation, enterprise configuration, FSLogix, profile management.
- PowerShell scripting for automation, reporting, packaging.
- Large‑scale device management (5k+–10k+ devices).
- Cloud networking (VNETs, VPN, routing, DNS, ExpressRoute).
- Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) and Autopilot.
- Zero Trust architecture knowledge.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- Microsoft certifications preferred:
- AZ‑104 Azure Administrator
- AZ‑140 Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty
- MD‑102 Modern Desktop Administrator
- AZ‑305 Azure Solutions Architect
(Additional certifications and experience in regulated/high‑security environments are advantages.)
