Job Description
**Job title**: Unreal Engine Developer – Real-Time **Role Summary**: Develop and optimize real‑time interactive experiences in UE4/UE5, integrating 3D characters, animation systems, Blueprint logic, and external API connections to deliver high‑performance, polished builds for immersive applications. **Expectations**: - Deliver production‑ready real‑time content that meets performance benchmarks. - Collaborate closely with artists, designers, and backend engineers. - Troubleshoot technical challenges independently and propose effective solutions. - Maintain a clean, documented project structure. **Key Responsibilities**: - Import and set up 3D characters, skeletons, morph targets, and animation assets. - Build animation state machines, blendspaces, facial rigs, lip‑sync pipelines, and control rigs using UE’s animation tools. - Create interactive logic and event‑driven behaviors with Blueprints (or C++ as required). - Optimize lighting, materials, LODs, tick functions, and overall scene performance. - Connect Unreal Engine to external services via WebSocket or REST APIs for real‑time triggers. - Prepare builds, run QA and performance tests, and ensure reliable deployment on target hardware. - Document workflows, maintain project organization, and facilitate cross‑disciplinary communication. **Required Skills**: - Minimum 2 years of real‑time production experience in UE4/UE5. - Advanced Blueprint scripting, animation blueprints, and actor/component logic. - Proficiency with Control Rig, retargeting, state machines, lip‑sync, and facial animation. - Strong 3D asset integration skills (skeletons, morph targets, animation import). - Profiling and optimisation expertise: LOD workflows, shader complexity, tick management. - Basic experience with WebSocket or REST API integration for real‑time data exchange. - Self‑contained problem‑solving ability and strong troubleshooting skills. - Capable of independent work and effective collaboration in a cross‑functional team. **Required Education & Certifications**: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Interactive Media, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). - UE certification or demonstrable experience with professional UE projects is desirable.
