Job Description
Job title: Retail Data Analyst Role Summary: Convert retail sales data into actionable insights, develop dashboards, conduct variance and trend analysis, and support merchandising and promotional strategies across retail channels. Expectations: Deliver accurate, timely reports and visualizations; collaborate with cross‑functional teams; propose data‑driven recommendations to improve sales performance; maintain data integrity and documentation. Key Responsibilities: - Analyse retail sales data and produce performance reports across categories and channels. - Monitor KPIs, conduct variance analysis against forecasts and historical periods. - Collaborate with merchandising and marketing teams to support data‑backed decisions. - Identify and track industry trends to inform product development and marketing initiatives. - Create presentations for internal and external stakeholders outlining findings and recommendations. - Design and maintain real‑time dashboards for business performance monitoring. Required Skills: - Proven experience as a data analyst in retail or consumer goods. - Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail. - Advanced Excel proficiency; experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation. - Ability to translate complex data into clear, non‑technical insights. - Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is an advantage. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field. - Certifications in data analytics or business intelligence (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Tableau Desktop Specialist) preferred but not mandatory.
