Job Description
**Job title** Portfolio Operations Director – Private Equity **Role Summary** Lead and execute value‑creation initiatives across multiple portfolio companies in a Belgian private equity fund. Partner with CEOs, CFOs, and management teams to optimise processes, financial operations, and commercial performance, while strengthening governance and reporting. **Expectations** - Deliver measurable performance improvements and return on investment. - Build trust and influence across senior leadership. - Manage multiple concurrent projects and cross‑company initiatives. - Act as a trusted advisor to portfolio CEOs and the investment team. **Key Responsibilities** - Design and implement operational improvement programmes (process optimisation, digitalisation, cost reduction, organisational redesign). - Provide strategic and operational support to CEOs/CFOs/COOs, including business planning and KPI development. - Strengthen governance via KPI dashboards, reporting frameworks, and board presentations. - Conduct performance analyses for boards and investment committees. - Lead or participate in strategic projects such as post‑merger integration, restructuring, and efficiency programmes. - Travel regularly to portfolio company sites (primarily Flanders). - Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across the portfolio. **Required Skills** - Minimum 10 years of senior operational, consulting, or transformation experience. - Proven track record in driving value creation and operational excellence. - Strong project management and change‑management capabilities. - Deep financial acumen: KPI development, budgeting, financial analysis, dashboards. - Pragmatic, hands‑on approach with a consultative mindset. - Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. - Ability to challenge constructively and build confidence with entrepreneurs. - Native Dutch and fluent English; French an added advantage. - Mature, autonomous, and highly collaborative. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field. - No specific certification required; professional qualifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) are advantageous.
