Job Title: Datacenter Technician
Role Summary:
Support day‑to‑day operations in a secure datacenter environment by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting server hardware, networking equipment, and related cabling.
Expectations:
- Provide reliable, efficient hardware support within defined SLAs.
- Maintain rigorous inventory and documentation standards.
- Operate safely in a high‑security, process‑driven setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, rack, stack, and replace server components (HDD/SSD, RAM, PSU, NIC, etc.).
- Manage patch panels, fiber and copper cabling, ensuring proper cable management.
- Perform routine temperature, alert, and equipment health checks.
- Troubleshoot and repair hardware failures on servers, storage, and network devices.
- Assist with equipment migrations, deployments, and decommissioning.
- Label, track, and update asset inventories and maintenance logs.
- Enforce datacenter safety, security, and access controls.
- Coordinate with remote technical teams for escalations and configuration.
- Resolve service tickets promptly and verify SLA compliance.
Required Skills:
- 1–3 years as a Datacenter/IT Hardware Technician or equivalent role.
- Proficiency with server hardware from Dell, HP, Lenovo, and similar vendors.
- Experience with patch panels, fiber/copper cabling, and cable management.
- Ability to replace hard‑disk, memory, power supplies, and network interface cards.
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, switches, ports, patching).
- Physical capability to lift and move datacenter equipment safely.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Required Education & Certifications:
- CompTIA Server+, CompTIA A+, or datacenter‑specific certifications (preferred).
- Familiarity with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, JIRA, Remedy, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (preferred).
