Job Description
**Job Title:** Staff Electro‑Acoustic Engineer **Role Summary:** Lead R&D responsibilities for acoustic performance of hearing aid products. Define acoustic requirements, design and validate transducer integration, test and tune signal‑processing algorithms, and create automated acoustic test frameworks for both R&D and manufacturing. **Expectations:** - Deliver sound‑quality improvements through rigorous acoustic testing. - Produce clear, concise technical documentation, reports, and research papers. - Collaborate with signal‑processing, product design, and clinical teams from inception to mass production. - Provide post‑deployment engineering support and failure analysis. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Characterize, evaluate, and tune hearing‑aid algorithms (feedback canceler, noise reduction, dynamic range compression, EQ). 2. Perform objective and subjective acoustic tests using industry standards and in‑house tools. 3. Select, characterize, and integrate micro‑transducers into acoustic systems. 4. Define and implement new design and verification/validation methodologies. 5. Develop and automate acoustic tests for R&D and manufacturing. 6. Operate and calibrate acoustic test setups (acoustic chambers, B&K, GRAS, Listen Inc. SoundCheck). 7. Support clinical testing and field engineering, including electroacoustic failure analysis. 8. Produce technical documentation, test results, and research papers. **Required Skills:** - 3+ years audio‑hardware development experience. - Strong programming in Python, MATLAB, or equivalent. - Proficiency with DAWs, Adobe Audition, SoundCheck, amplifiers, measurement microphones, HATS, ear simulators, sound calibrators, and sound level meters. - Knowledge of audiology/psychoacoustics, especially speech‑processing. - Experience with acoustic architecture and audio subsystems. - Familiarity with medical electronics and/or high‑volume consumer electronics. - Excellent verbal and written communication; self‑motivated; able to translate abstract concepts into functional solutions. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, or related field. ---
