Job Description
Job Title: Sales Engineer – North America Role Summary: Serve as the trusted technical advisor during the pre‑sales process, collaborating with customers and cross‑functional teams to identify challenges, design IoT‑based solutions, and validate feasibility through Proof of Concepts. Act as the subject‑matter expert in meetings, presentations, and product demos, and ensure seamless technical alignment between customer requirements and Trackunit’s delivery capabilities. Expactations: - 5+ years of pre‑sales or Sales Engineering experience in SaaS, IoT, or industrial IoT environments. - Deep knowledge of IoT solutions architecture, including J1939 CANbus and Modbus connectivity protocols. - Proven ability to manage technical components of new deals and secure strategic accounts. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences. - Strategic thinker with a proactive, customer‑centric mindset. - Willingness to travel 2–3 days per month across North America and Canada. Key Responsibilities: - Partner with customers and internal teams to identify key problems and propose innovative, value‑driven technical solutions. - Serve as the technical SME in client meetings, product demos, and presentations. - Configure and tailor the Trackunit solution to meet specific customer requirements, showcasing its impact. - Oversee end‑to‑end PoC setups, including test environments, accounts, CAN profiles, and API access, to validate technical feasibility. - Coordinate with engineering, product, and delivery teams to align technical commitments with delivery capabilities. - Act as the voice of the customer, feeding technical requirements and market insights back to product management and internal stakeholders. - Contribute to the development of tools, templates, and best practices that streamline the technical sales process. Required Skills: - Pre‑sales / Sales Engineering experience (Solution Architect/Engineer) in SaaS or IoT. - Strong understanding of IoT architectures, protocols, and connectivity (J1939 CANbus, Modbus). - Capability to design, configure, and validate PoCs in a fast‑moving environment. - Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to explain complex technical topics to non‑technical audiences. - Strategic, analytical thinking with a solutions‑focused approach. - Sales‑mindset focused on building trust and guiding customers toward acquisition. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
