Job Description
Job title: Head of Engineering Role Summary: Lead the engineering division to deliver high‑performance defence technologies, guiding strategy, design, and execution of complex NRE projects while ensuring quality, safety, and cost objectives. Expectations: - Drive engineering strategy to support growth and innovation. - Ensure all outputs meet quality, safety, regulatory, and cost targets. - Oversee complex NRE and design projects from planning to delivery. - Foster a culture of innovation and cross‑disciplinary collaboration. - Promote design optimisation for productivity, quality, and cost. Key Responsibilities: - Direct strategic planning, resource allocation, and performance management of the engineering department. - Provide technical oversight for multi‑stakeholder programmes, integrating DfX principles early. - Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and sustainability standards. - Coordinate with product, manufacturing, and procurement teams to align design with production capabilities. - Lead continuous improvement initiatives and data‑driven performance reporting. - Champion risk management processes (FMEA, DFMA) and maintain rigorous quality documentation. Required Skills: - Minimum 15 years of engineering experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles. - Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects and NRE programmes. - Proficiency in DFMA, FMEA, ERP/MRP systems, and project management tools (MS Office, SolidWorks, CREO). - Strong data analytics and performance reporting capabilities. - Excellent strategic thinking, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills. - Effective multi‑level communication and influence across technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience). - Demonstrated knowledge of defence engineering standards and regulatory frameworks. - Security clearance required.
