Job Description
**Job Title:** Media & Communications Adviser **Role Summary:** Provide strategic, proactive and reactive communications support for a large police force. Deliver high‑quality content across digital, print and media channels, advise senior officers on messaging, manage media enquiries, and coordinate press events to maintain public trust and confidence. **Expectations:** - Produce clear, accurate, and timely communications for policing matters. - Influence senior leadership on communications strategy for serious crime investigations and critical incidents. - Maintain robust internal and external relationships to secure positive media coverage. - Remain calm and professional under tight deadlines and operational pressures. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Advise and support senior officers on effective communication tactics for both proactive and reactive situations. 2. Create, design, plan, and monitor multimedia content to drive audience engagement. 3. Build and nurture relationships with internal stakeholders, external media outlets, and community partners. 4. Respond to and manage media enquiries from local, regional and national press. 5. Organise and conduct media interviews, press conferences, briefings and coordinate media presence at operational events. 6. Lead the development and implementation of communications plans for serious crime investigations and major incidents. 7. Develop key messaging, brief senior leaders, and align communications with overall organisational objectives. 8.
