**Job Title:**
Global Sourcing Leader, Electronics
**Role Summary:**
Lead global sourcing for electronic and mechanical components of residential electronic locks. Develop and execute sourcing strategies, manage supplier base in North America and Asia, drive cost savings, ensure supply continuity, and support new product development.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver measurable year‑over‑year cost savings.
- Maintain uninterrupted supply of critical components.
- Manage component lifecycle and obsolescence risks.
- Support BOM, COGS, and early R&D cost visibility.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Partner with Engineering and Marketing to source finished goods, sub‑assemblies, and mechanical parts (die‑casting, stamping, injection molding, packaging).
- Resolve technical/process issues during and after launch.
- Use Excel/Data analytics to track Excess & Obsolete (E&O) inventory and optimise working capital.
- Lead cost‑improvement initiatives through spend analysis, market trend assessment, and strategic sourcing decisions.
- Monitor lead times, coordinate with EMS and strategic suppliers to ensure supply continuity.
- Drive lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) – balance cost, quality, delivery, performance.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives and product roadmaps.
- Conduct supplier selection, capability assessment, quality improvement, and negotiate supplier agreements.
- Manage component lifecycle, address end‑of‑life (EOL) issues and obsolescence.
- Support BOM management, review, and early‑stage COGS calculations.
- Handle RFIs/RFQs, analyze quotes, negotiate with global suppliers.
- Monitor and report supplier performance metrics and scorecards.
- Travel to Asia (China, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand) and North America; hybrid onsite schedule (Mon/ Fri remote).
**Required Skills:**
- Component lifecycle and engineering knowledge for electronic and mechanical parts.
- Strategic sourcing experience in global electromechanical categories.
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis for cost and inventory management.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes: PCBA assembly, semiconductor fabrication, die‑casting, stamping, injection molding, packaging.
- Supplier relationship management, negotiation, and contract administration.
- Problem‑solving, cross‑functional collaboration, and project management.
- Basic Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT).
- Ability to manage large BOMs and contribute to early COGS calculations.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
- 3–5 years global strategic sourcing experience (minimum 1–2 years in sourcing electronics or mechanical components).
- CPM or equivalent certification preferred (completed or in progress).
- Supply‑chain operations experience is an advantage.
