Job Description: **Job Title:** Mechanical Engineer – Accessories Development **Role Summary:** Drive the design, qualification, and launch of vehicle accessories for Toyota & Lexus models sold in Europe. Ensure products meet safety, quality, performance, and regulatory standards while collaborating with suppliers, homologation, and internal teams. **Expectations:** - Deliver accessory projects on schedule and within budget. - Maintain high design quality and compliance with European regulations. - Communicate effectively with cross‑functional stakeholders and suppliers. - Continuously improve design standards and development processes. **Key Responsibilities:** - Define product requirements and technical specifications for accessories. - Approve final 3D designs and 2D drawings; confirm installation procedures. - Monitor supplier development to achieve performance, quality, and cost targets. - Coordinate with homologation to secure regulatory compliance. - Evaluate tested parts, resolve issues during evaluation and installation trials. - Address quality concerns during development and mass production. - Support development of new accessory types and contribute to design enhancement initiatives. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in CATIA (analysis, reading, interpreting). - Knowledge of tightening/torque and looseness requirements. - Understanding of metallurgical materials and manufacturing processes. - Project management skills with multiple stakeholders. - Strong planning, organization, and communication abilities. - Fluent in English; willingness to travel for supplier and plant visits. - Familiarity with efficiency improvement tools (Power Automate, Power BI, Python) considered an asset. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or equivalent. - Minimum 3 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience in the automotive or accessories domain.
