About the Company

Cookies for Kids' Cancer, a national 501(c)3 non-profit, is committed to raising funds for research to develop new, improved treatments for pediatric cancer, the #1 disease killer of children in the U.S. We provide inspiration and support for individuals, businesses and organizations to raise funds by hosting grassroots bake sales and other fundraising events.

Cookies for Kids’ Cancer has granted $10 million to date, funding 80 research projects, including 32 that are now treatments available for children battling cancer today. The organization inspires individuals, organizations, and businesses to join in the fight against pediatric cancer by raising the funds for new and improved and less toxic treatments. Since Cookies for Kids’ Cancer launched in 2008, there have been more than 7,000 events in all 50 states and 16 countries. Grants are peer reviewed by a scientific advisory board of esteemed pediatric cancer oncologists, with funds going directly to the leading pediatric cancer institutions in the country including: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Dana Farber, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Texas Children’s Cancer Center. In addition, Cookies for Kids’ Cancer is the largest single donor to the Children’s Oncology Group Phase I Consortium project with a donation twice the amount that the Federal Government allocates per child enrolled. The organization has been profiled in the Wall Street Journal, Today Show, Good Morning America, NY Daily News, Family Circle Magazine and dozens of other local and national media outlets. Job Description
Job Title: Donor Stewardship & Grant Management Intern (Paid) Role Summary: Assist the Development Team of a national nonprofit in donor stewardship and grant management, ensuring accurate donor tracking, timely acknowledgments, and compliance with grant reporting requirements. Expectations: - Commit to 10 hours per week over a 12‑month internship. - Work remotely or onsite as directed, maintaining professional communication with team members. - Demonstrate discretion and confidentiality in handling donor and grant information. Key Responsibilities: - Draft and send donor thank‑you letters, personalized acknowledgments, and stewardship communications. - Update and maintain donor records in Salesforce CRM, ensuring data accuracy and completeness. - Create and distribute donor impact reports and updates on project progress. - Track grant calendars, deadlines, and reporting schedules across multiple funders. - Prepare documentation, summaries, and impact data for foundation and corporate grant reports. - Conduct research to identify potential grant opportunities for future research projects. - Maintain accurate records in grant management systems and perform data entry and reporting tasks. - Provide general administrative support to the Development team as required. Required Skills: - Strong written communication and interpersonal skills. - High attention to detail and organizational abilities. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace suites. - Ability to manage confidential information with discretion. - Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising practices and donor stewardship. - (Preferred) Experience with Salesforce CRM. Required Education & Certifications: - Current college student or recent graduate (first or second year of enrollment). - Major or coursework in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Public Administration, or related field. - Must be authorized to work in the United States.
