Job Description
**Job Title:** Director, Credit Risk **Role Summary:** Strategic leader responsible for evaluating credit risk of infrastructure and corporate/hybrid project‑finance investments. Provides independent analysis, influences investment decisions from intake through financial close and ongoing monitoring, mentors junior staff, and ensures alignment with organizational risk appetite. **Expectations:** - Deliver thorough, high‑impact credit risk assessments for a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects. - Recommend and implement risk‑mitigation strategies. - Supervise and develop Credit Risk Associates. - Maintain accurate risk ratings and annual reviews. - Communicate risk insights to senior leadership and cross‑functional partners. - Stay current on industry trends and emerging financing models. **Key Responsibilities:** - Review transaction documentation and financial models; perform credit risk analysis. - Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses, including PPP and revenue‑risk assessments. - Advise on mitigation tactics for debt, equity, and equity‑like structures. - Oversee performance, training, and feedback for junior credit risk staff. - Validate accuracy and completeness of annual risk reviews and ratings. - Produce regular risk‑related reports for the Head of Credit Risk & Fiscal Impact. - Monitor market and sector developments affecting the investment portfolio. - Collaborate with investment, finance, and accounting teams on risk‑related matters. **Required Skills:** - 7‑10 + years credit analysis experience (bank, regulated institution, MDB/IFI preferred). - Deep knowledge of infrastructure assets, PPPs, and project finance. - Expertise in credit risk rating methodologies for infrastructure and project finance. - Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to distill complex structures into clear insights. - Advanced financial modelling proficiency (Excel) and strong presentation skills (PowerPoint, Word). - Proven leadership and cross‑functional collaboration abilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication in English; French proficiency is a strong asset. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience). - CFA designation and/or MBA strongly preferred.
