Job Description
**Job Title:** Network Security Engineer **Role Summary:** Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for designing, reviewing, and implementing secure network architectures for a federal IRS project. Ensures compliance with federal cybersecurity frameworks, provides technical guidance, and participates in risk assessments and documentation. **Expectations:** - Maintain active or past Moderate‑Risk Background Investigation (MBI). - Hold U.S. citizenship and be authorized to work on Federal Government contracts. - Deliver expert-level network security solutions aligned with federal standards. - Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders. **Key Responsibilities:** - Serve as SME for network security engineering on the IRS project. - Design, evaluate, and implement secure network architectures meeting federal requirements. - Conduct design reviews, provide security recommendations, and support compliance activities. - Participate in security assessments, risk analyses, and produce related documentation. - Collaborate with program teams to integrate security controls into overall system designs. **Required Skills:** - 10+ years of network engineering experience. - Deep expertise in network security architecture and security controls. - Strong knowledge of federal cybersecurity standards (e.g., NIST, FISMA). - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Ability to work remotely in a U.S.-based environment. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Networking or a related discipline. - Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification. - Active or past Moderate‑Risk Background Investigation (MBI).
